About Tracmaster.....
In 1984 Tracmaster was founded by our Managing Director Stephen Pitt, who, after selling garden machinery for a number of years, identified an opportunity for the sale of pedestrian horticultural machinery in the UK, which at the time was popular in Europe but relatively unknown here.
From the start our business partnership with BCS, the Italian manufacturer of the Two Wheel Tractor machine unit has been a key factor in our success.
Since those early days, introducing this relatively unknown product category into the UK market, we have built a reputation, not just for the quality and reliability of the machinery but for our customer service and technical expertise.
This technical expertise resulted in the development of our own brand of pedestrian machines known as CAMON, which was originally set up to serve the needs of UK Hire Industry, who wanted machines that could endure the rigours of constant use.
We are based in Burgess Hill in West Sussex, with a team of 18, who design, manufacturer and sell these two highly renowned brands which has ensured that the name Tracmaster is widely recognised and respected in the landscape, conservation and garden machinery industries across the UK & Ireland.
Our machinery appeals to a variety of customers who include; hire shops and dealers, landscapers and contractors, local authorities and schools, allotments societies and smallholders. We are also proud to be able to count on organisations such as The National Trust, Natural England, The RSPB and major companies like HSS, Green Thumb and South East Water as long standing and valued customers.
The anniversary has also acted as a catalyst to look at the future development of the business and initiatives include;
• A new on-line shop which sells an array of our Implements and Accessories as well as the introduction of some new product categories including a selection of garden machinery and hand tools, engines and safety equipment to extend our product offer.
• The recruitment of 50 new Authorised Garden Machinery Dealers in the UK & Ireland over the next year.
• The development of three new products; a Hydraullic Rotavator, a Multi-Purpose Tiller and a portable twin chute Chipper Shredder.
Asked to reflect on the last 25years, Stephen says ‘I believe our success can be attributed to the following, three very basic, yet intrinsic principles for success in business, which we are lucky enough to have in abundance. A quality product, priced to represent the value of the machines. Secondly, our technical expertise has ensured that the product offer is constantly evolving to meet the needs of our diverse and discerning customer base. Lastly, is our loyal and highly experienced staff, over half of which, have been in the business for over twelve years. Their commitment to the highest levels of customer service and their expert knowledge of the product and services we offer has been instrumental to the company that our customers recognise and trust as Tracmaster.
